DigiPets

Introduction

DigiPets ("the App") is a free virtual pet game developed by David Luky ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights.

What we collect

• An anonymous user ID generated by Firebase Authentication. No email or legal name is required to use the App.
• Game progress data (pet stats, inventory, coins, achievements) stored in Cloud Firestore and associated with your anonymous ID.
• If you choose to sign in with Google, Firebase Authentication may receive your email address and basic profile information such as your display name or profile photo when Google includes them in the credential. If you link an email/password account, that email is stored securely by Firebase Authentication. The App uses the email address for account linking and does not use or display the Google profile photo or display name.
• If you use Friends, social data such as your shareable friend code, active pet name and summary, friendships, requests, visits, house summary, and kudos activity.
• Firebase may process a per-installation identifier (FID). Firebase App Check may also process Play Integrity app/device integrity signals to protect backend requests from abuse. This information is not used for advertising or user tracking.
• When you block or report a player, the App stores the account IDs involved. Safety reports also contain the selected reason, report status, and timestamps. We use this information to prevent abuse and review reports.
• If you enable Android push notifications, a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) registration token associated with your account, selected locale, and last update time.

What we do not collect

• Location data
• Your device address book or phone number
• Access to photos stored on your device, camera, or microphone
• Advertising IDs or device identifiers used for advertising or tracking
• Third-party analytics, advertising tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs

How we use your data

We use your data to save game progress, support optional Google sign-in and email/password account linking, and provide Friends, requests, and visits. We do not sell or monetize your data. Limited social profile details are shown through friend-code and accepted-friend flows; friend, request, and visit records are scoped to the involved accounts.

Notifications and push delivery

Push notifications are optional on Android. If you enable them, Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) uses the registration token associated with your DigiPets account, selected locale, and last update time to deliver account and game notifications. The App also stores private inbox messages and whether you have read or dismissed them. Disabling push stops delivery to this installation. The App tries to remove the server registration when connected, and removes tokens reported invalid by Firebase during delivery attempts. Notification delivery is not used for marketing or notification analytics. The notification content shown on a device is generic and does not include a pet name. Device and installation identifiers described above remain used only for App functionality, not advertising or user tracking.

Third-party services

The App uses Google Firebase for authentication, cloud data storage, and server-side game and social commands. Firebase's own privacy policy applies to data processed by its infrastructure.

Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information. Anonymous play does not require an email or legal name. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
